Starry eyed pair
Her Christian faith witnessed
My Darwinist theory
Waltzes gracefully in step
With her Biblical creationism
We stroll lush lake shore
And lie together in soft bed of grass
Sensual touch of moist earth on skin

My tongue tied
She giggles with puckish grin
Tickle teases me to tumescence
Plays me like a mad pianist
In throes of Baroque passion
Monastic walls toppled
Words tumble from my astounded lips
And she beams even more ecstatically

My bashful retreat thwarted
She vetoes me taking her home
Dinner essential to a date her decree
Fast food our cuisine
In culinary afterglow

We sit in hamburger joint retreat, my tongue tied
I ask what her goals in life are?
She beams at break in silence
Her quest to marry, have children, a family
I say, “You’re a good person. You deserve it.”
She replies, “You’re a good person too. You deserve it.”
Her sunny smile shines through my clouds
