Toast to You

I'm in a deep move
swaying around the room

to the twinkle of lights
my holiday surprise
warm apples, cinnamon and pumpkin pie
dance of sugar plums
a celebration of seasons
with my ladies tonight.

A salute to the sisterhood
bruised blossoms renewed
remnants mended from tales
pulled by undertow beneath veils
in a sea of darkness groping for light
searching for honesty and truth
in a deceptive world
when all hope is gone.

Cooking la comida
para mis amigas

Life is short
for the mundane
who never mean what they say
truth will always prevail in the end.

Here's a toast to you all
now let's have a ball
