Early our day begins standing in line waiting to vote; were not truly sure of our candidate’s political decisions, so we cast our ballot with the thought of lifting our voice to sing to the melodies of faith harmonizing with hope.
Considered myself to be a transient one of a millions of grains of sand passing through a tiny hole within an hour glass of time, but even where I’m going remains a mystery un to myself so in the thick of things just as Dick Grayson becomes Robin who wouldn’t wonder how we are just blur lines.
Still wondering if we’ll have a chance to relax today, still looking at my life as a slow walk home from a derailed train wreck…
When I recognized I went from working a nine to Five, to selling things pushing dimes, now I’m fighting an addiction daily and find myself in a pantry line. Just trying to make sure my dude has something to eat; Gladys Knight sums it up best for me, my plate is not always full but at least I got something to eat…
Our feet are sore from pounding these streets trying to make ends meet in hopes of getting ourselves some kind of J.O.B…
Want to give up life’s rat race but then where would our legacies be? Besides they look up to W.E…
And really wouldn’t want anybody to raise them but ourselves.
So we take a trip to Roosevelt Island from Brooklyn we hop on the B63…
Somewhere downtown around Neives street; takes it to Atlantic and Columbus where there’s pier 6 and a ferry that will take you there for free.
Feel free to internalize this hit on the count of three…
One, two, three…
Donald Lawrence, the present is a gift tomorrow a mystery to become verse in numerous ways it’s suggested we become studied biblically in one of the various versions of his story.
During the course of the day we may wish for a calgon moment to take us away; while I’ve used elbow grease to wash my pots and pans and done my dishes with anything from Palmolive to liquid joy, but when I’m broke I’ve used a bare of soap…
I quote this from Ice Cube “Today was a good day,” and now some positive affirmations everyday above ground is a good day.
To look at ourselves and be able to say,” success is failure turned inside out.” Verson Mitchell turn it around decisions are what we pay for , my calling is what I’m made for, to stand tall in his glory is what I pray for; in the bigger scheme of life when I think about the overall plight of blacks in America and the diversity of our culture what I go through as an individual makes me a small fry and since a lot of our families come from the country a good Sunday breakfast could consist of butter milk biscuits, harmony grits and catfish that’s fried.
Harmonizes this “lift every voice and sing tell earth and heaven ring, ring with the harmony of liberty; James Weldon Johnson wrote this. One of the leading voices during the Harlem Renaissance who scribed it during poetry bliss; just another example of an African American who used his gifts to uplift, and we hope to one day included as one of them. But just as black will always remain black it’s like the now disdained rap group “Public Enemy and Malcolm X said,” It takes a nation of millions to hold our people back.
