Before you Bow
You stand today, oh gallant knight
Before your great liege lord
Your armor is gleaming
And your banners are flying
You come before your king to kneel at his service
But before you bend your knee, dear knight, I beg you hear me
Yes before you bow, dear knight, please hear my words
Please open your eyes, to the man here before you
And see him through another’s eyes
He dons a cloth of gold; with jewels on his brow
While his people wear rags and shiver in cold
He eats the finest cuts and lives in a palace of treasures
While his people starve and sleep in the mud
Dear knight, my words are true; for why should I lie?
Would your knee not stiffen kind Sir, before this man?
I ask for naught, gallant one, I only request
That you ponder upon this king, this man, before you bend the knee
