Aqueous
I always adored her in blue
An element extraordinary and
Terrifying in the way light
Burned against our skin
The doubt beneath her lips
The desolation that levied her eyes
As days drew this out with a marbled cancer
Crippling dusk onto a sensually pale end
We would trace hands
Sundays never found us shy
But like bricks we were stiff
Resigned
Imprisoned and made to hold back the last hours
Our fantasy flooded into fear
Just the way aqueous streams
Though I imagine time would tell all differently
Nothing grows as well as a hunger in darkness
After our last veneer
With fire pausing over night
Stories like sex kept us smiling
Now
All is gone
The fire a tombstone
The song
A blue rendering
Wedded to the wetlands
Memories turned unto weeds
What I reminisce is
Terrifying
Something in weight of birth against
Life’s eventual decline
A wanting of
Her eyes
A blue beginning
I will never know
Again
An element extraordinary and
Terrifying in the way light
Burned against our skin
The doubt beneath her lips
The desolation that levied her eyes
As days drew this out with a marbled cancer
Crippling dusk onto a sensually pale end
We would trace hands
Sundays never found us shy
But like bricks we were stiff
Resigned
Imprisoned and made to hold back the last hours
Our fantasy flooded into fear
Just the way aqueous streams
Though I imagine time would tell all differently
Nothing grows as well as a hunger in darkness
After our last veneer
With fire pausing over night
Stories like sex kept us smiling
Now
All is gone
The fire a tombstone
The song
A blue rendering
Wedded to the wetlands
Memories turned unto weeds
What I reminisce is
Terrifying
Something in weight of birth against
Life’s eventual decline
A wanting of
Her eyes
A blue beginning
I will never know
Again
