Searching for a brighter day

Remembering the friend that pulled me out of my slump
Depression hit me so fucking hard
Holding on so tightly to what we were
Can never forget just how much I love you
So I say let’s put down our arms
And fight for each other once again

At times I feel like a monster
Other times feeling like a harmless creature  
When you smile at me I turn away
For a sad attempt to keep my anger
Not saying I trust you like I used to
Can’t open myself up like I did
Just taking it one day at a time
To see if the person I knew still exist
And if so, then the truth will set us free
Or separate us… right here, right now
