Intrigue
(note an old write written after coming off heroin)
living the life of the sedate
I sometimes miss the days of danger
youth full of wonder and adventure
arsenic mixed with opium is intrigue
how many times did the viper bite
before I realized this is poison
yet still searching for fun and mystery
landscapes unexplored
doors unopened
all of them labeled
with a question mark
enter at your own risk is intrigue
living the life of the sedate
I sometimes miss the days of danger
youth full of wonder and adventure
arsenic mixed with opium is intrigue
how many times did the viper bite
before I realized this is poison
yet still searching for fun and mystery
landscapes unexplored
doors unopened
all of them labeled
with a question mark
enter at your own risk is intrigue

Re. Intrigue
Fine early write Crim. And, wow, after coming off H? Most people wouldn't be able to come up with a coherent word if they had recently kicked. I like to think you're still "searching for fun and mystery." There are still plenty of doors to be opened. It'd be fun to see more of your early work, a fine talent in the making. Thanks for the "Intrigue'!

the whole thing reads really true -
I think anyone is allowed to regret
the up side of risk...
oh and it's written
really well (as well..:)

Brenda bravo!
This is special, and Crow is right, its hard to get your groove back.
Recovering addict alchoholic
Myself, my first piece of art i did sober is my proudest achievement in creativity. Its the pic attached to my piece in here, You here me!
The original hangs on my sponsors wall.
This write speaks volumes. I dig your sexy hell bitch side. But i love when you go you.
Hope youre as proud of yourrself as a Pulitzer prize winner, just as big as an achievement.
Love you grrrrl

Miss Crim. . .w/or w/out your past. . .you are very intriguing, not only as a writer but as a person. . .My heart goes out to you and to many others who have recovered or are in the process of recovering. . .I wish I could offer you more sympathy in that area but I know nothing of it. . .but from one sober chic to another, I commend you. . .stay beautiful, particularly in your writes!. . .You're awesome, and I mean that. . .love to you. . .xoxo, Devlin;)

Re. Intrigue
Love readng your bare-bone poem, Brenda. You are a phenom woman. To conquer the demon of herion and write about the experience. ROCK STAR status!
Life prolly does seem boring without the jizz of H. without the uncertainity if you will survive the night, without the people you meet and f*** one way or another.
