Territorial Dispute
"Have to draw the line somewhere"
But exactly what's my strategy,
And the threat in this absurd town?
A tough call, considering variable limits
Those that fluctuate day-by-day
Demons observe the lack of consistency
And check out my pressure points
Targeting vulnerabilities that prove to have widened
My guardian attempts to measure distance
Confusion slipping in over who's a local enemy or friend
So keeping all equally close, for now.

Thanks Crim. I'm trying to figure it out without succumbing to this great state of paranoia.

"Trust is built when someone is vulnerable and not taken advantage of." **
......And sadly, how can one ever be completely certain who is a friend or foe.? it's so extremely difficult to let down one's guard....to break apart the barriers of protection when so many others continue to provide reasons to keep them in place.
Mo Chara, this piece presents an intriguing insight regarding "Michael Corleone's" 'words of wisdom'....( might be your best strategic.protection plan, after all) :))
[ Anyhow, you caused me to reconsider my own beliefs about trust ...(t y)

I like that quote you begin with.
And thanks for clarifying about Michael Corleone. I couldn't quite recall where it came from (a Google search might have helped). Could be Machiavelli if the lingo was archaic.
And, yes, there's never any way to be completely sure about friend or foe, and even time may not tell. That test of vulnerability is a fine suggestion, if risky. Thanks Enchantress!

Thanks for the tequila and sympathy Darksighs! And I agree with you about the drama, it's a fucking annoyance. But the silence beforehand can be chilling, not knowing quite what to expect. The situation I was writing (vaguely) about has been cleared up as of an hour or so ago. Peace has prevailed. For now. But I could still use a nice shot of Cuervo...

Seems like a surrounding battle between Good and Evil. . .I think we've all been there at one point or another. . .this piece just shows how many of us channel it differently. . .Enjoyed. . .xoxo, Devlin;)

It's really a matter of "there goes the neighborhood." I tend to blow things out of proportion. Thanks Devlin!

Hmmm, this is why i keep friends and family close, but treat all with the respect and kindness i feel I deserve, to the best of my ability anyway. Trying my best to have compassion, realizing there are horrible reasons for people to act horrible, and pray for those i resent. If i have a dog in the fight, i certainly address the problem. In as adult, and diplomatic way possible.
Then there are times i fail miserabley at this. And hope they pray for me and my defects. Karma please be.
At any rate, thoughtful write.
Demons note your lack of consistantsy and guague your pressure points...astute self awareness, they want you to erupt.
Thought you were followed, remedied Crow. Enjoy you so.

Thank you Jennifer. I always keep my family close, at least emotionally. They all live out of state. Same with those I know for a fact are friends. It's others I'm concerned about here, the one's about whom I have mixed feelings, and not sure about their motives. There are still others that have demonstrated themselves to be threats, but to what degree remains unclear. It's yet to be determined what action, if any, needs to be taken. So I'm keeping most close until I can figure it out. Thanks again. That's a very thoughtful comment. I enjoy you too. Very much!

Nice write. It sounds like someone made you second guess just who your friends are and who your enemies are. All I can say is be careful of the sheep they tend to bit you in the ass..

This is oddly reminiscent of Salem which I just visited. No one knew who the enemy was and it turned out to be their friends. But their friends were not the enemy, but rather themselves proved to be the one to be afraid of.

Ugh, I hate that feeling of suddenly being unsure where you stand with people, who you can trust, if you were just being used, who is sincere and who is out to get you. Sorry you went through that as well, I hope you handled it better than I have. haha
Great write, I can really relate. I am trying to catch up on some peoples writing, yours being one of them.
