Selfishly Spun

Spider, why do you
sit lifeless on
my nicely decorated wall?
Is it not, my wall
to sit upon so still?

Spider, why do you crawl
all legs
upon my wall?
A wall so creamily smooth is surely for me
and me only, to sprawl upon?

You take from me,
and leave me nothing but
shabby, silken webs
stuck in dark corners I hope to avoid.

I wouldn't hurt a fly, how about you?
Spider?
Your silence is worse
than your bite.

You sit
you crawl
you sit
you
crawl

I give you everything, and you
give nothing in return.
