along for the ride
well Doc, it's kinda like this
got on the bus
goin nowhere
caught the last one
with no time to spare
figured a random run
would take me somewhere
road to the last stop so i got off at that one
just so happened your office was waiting right there
decided to come in and have a nice little chat
not that your analysis will ever help me
who knows what transpires under my hat?
no psychology can explain my existence to me
when every destination is my destiny
where ever I am is where I happen to be
it just so happens so coincidentally
it's always right there where it all goes so wrong
i could wait there forever, no matter how long
if I walk away, the one I desired will finally come
i'm so tired of this bus stop but got nowhere to go
i just get on the next run so nobody will know
finally, there I was at the end of the line
nobody else's destination so I guess that it's mine

figured a random run
would take me somewhere

Thanks for commenting Dev! The funny thing is, just before I wrote this I was listening to "Destination Unknown" by Missing Persons. It got me in that frame of mind, thinking about my life and not really having a reason to go anywhere... jj

Thank Gabriel! Interestingly, that line was inspired by John Lennon in "All You Need is Love". "There's nowhere you can be that isn't where you were meant to be, it's easy!" jj

My biggest problem is that I am the type of person who never gets to finish the journey as I am always yelling 'Stop the bus I wanna get off' - maybe my fear is the journeys end?
interesting, thought provoking stuff :-)

Interesting, thought provoking comment David! Sometimes the ride is the safest part of the journey. Who knows what's waiting outside the door...
Thanks for commenting!

I wish I could stop the bus and sightsee for a while. But I ride the bus and watch the scenes go flashing by. How did I get this old, how did I get here is what I think always as the clock ticks...and the mirror tells me I am no longer sixteen. Food for thoughts indeed, Poetryman.

Every day I ask myself the same thing Grace. How did I ever get so old. Partly I ask because the time went by so fast that I missed out on a lot of things I can never go back and experience, but also, I can't believe how old I feel and look. My mind still thinks the same thoughts but they don't belong in this body...

As they say G, if you don't know where you're going, any bus will take you there, or something like that... thanks for commenting? Glad you can relate, sort of, lol... seems we are all on a bus to nowhere. JJ

I'm sure that video will get removed by moderators, but it is very appropriate... George Harrison has been an enormous inspiration in my life, along with the other Beatles! JJ
Moderate slowly please... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=

Ha! Story of my life. This whole poem I relate to on a very personal level. Love your end of the line reference at the end...not sure what's there but so looking forward to it. Nicely done.

Thanks for commenting Michael! It's nice to know we all have something in common to talk about while we are riding on the bus together. I hope it's air conditioned... jj
