she's mad but she's magic
like iron bars
around my heart
cold as a deep freeze
immersed in a frigid hell
upon hearing
of her
darker days
closing in on her
a cloak of madness
shielding her from serenity
out of the eye
and into the storm
and now my futile hopes
and unheard prayers
are airborn
frisked away
by the wind
dragged through the trees
scratched and marred
in the end
you're still my angel
unsure if the love I have
was ever that of a lover
or a close sister
but look through
to the light at the end
of this tunnel
that light is still you
my little firecracker
around my heart
cold as a deep freeze
immersed in a frigid hell
upon hearing
of her
darker days
closing in on her
a cloak of madness
shielding her from serenity
out of the eye
and into the storm
and now my futile hopes
and unheard prayers
are airborn
frisked away
by the wind
dragged through the trees
scratched and marred
in the end
you're still my angel
unsure if the love I have
was ever that of a lover
or a close sister
but look through
to the light at the end
of this tunnel
that light is still you
my little firecracker
