The Sound of Silencers

You swore you'd never leave
Until
the end of breath
ramifications
 of that Vow
have now
Become a threat

Intimacy's billows dissipate
futile existential ache
Since mutual surrender
of Gives for takes

can you recall an era
before numb tundra’s existence
when gaias fortunes historic
enveloped quintets of senses?

one moment
drums vibrate
sweet nothings
next
hurtling expletives
reveal
extent of rotting

as for self-infliction
previously warned
silence tempts and beckons:
look away as fabric's torn
