Free Your Mind Instead

We are born with fear to protect us from danger,  
but soon it strikes out with rage to save us from unknowns.  
Then we learn pride, which holds our kind in high esteem,  
while holding all the others down to suffocate their dream.  
Finally we take all we believe to be our prize,  
for being fittest in our own eyes then write our history in lies.  
The more we take, the more we want
and the more we want, the less you will ever have.  
For to the victor goes the spoils and for the rest the magma boils...
