Reflection of the Sun on the Surface of the Water

The river is tranquil,still, a picture of peace.
Upon the surface I see images of the trees at the river's edge.  
Even the sun is there, riding on the boyant river.
Oh the glory of a river shining with the radiance of the sun!                                                                                                                                                                                               .
But then a motor boat goes by in the distance.                        
In its wake comes the iconoclastic wave action.
The images of the trees are gone,
The sun is lost beneath the waves!
 
My mind is that river.
When at peace,  
Great images form perfectly with great detail, intricate as lace.
Even heavenly imagery shining like the sun.
Visitations from above,in the form of helpful thoughts
Messages from departed loved ones,
Dwelling in that "cloud of witnesses" that the apostle Paul  spoke of,
Who see all we do(Hebrews 12.1).
 
Paul should know,
It was he who visited the "third heaven"
During a NDE, a near death experience(2 Corinthians 12.2-4).
It happened while he was temporarily deceased,
After being stoned to death by a mob(Acts 14.19).
The believers in Christ gathered around his crumpled body and prayed.
Paul was resurrected! He came back to life!
Yes, he had suffered like Christ, and Yes, rose like Him.
Even as he,Paul, had written we should do,
"If we die with Him...we will also rise with Him"
(Romans 6.6-11;Galatians 2.19-20; 2 Timothy 2.11-12; Colossians 3.1-3).
 
But when distractions come,
The images on the surface of the waters of the river of my mind disappear.
Breaking up, they are lost temporarily, or even permanently.
What a catastrophe!
 
It's as if the Taj Mahal, the whole thing, had collapsed, fallen to the ground
Each time I let the temple of thought in my mind be destroyed.
