Reflection Number 305
it’s raining outside
it seems soft today
a moment where light and water
kiss
i’ve gotten
some great rainsleep
it’s gray and soft
and purring inside me
how my soul needed it
but never knew
now i stare at my desk
with its errant technologies
chrome and buttons and wires
and on the computer screen
it reads “high definition photos”
and what can be seen
is a lighthouse
broken boards
chipped paint
i can feel the grains of sand
sifting through my fingers
and i think how funny it is
how we immerse ourselves in futuristic ways
of getting back to the precise moment
of nothing remotely close to design
or intervention
the purest moment
like when i suddenly realize
how truly sad and naked and crumbling i am
without you today
it seems soft today
a moment where light and water
kiss
i’ve gotten
some great rainsleep
it’s gray and soft
and purring inside me
how my soul needed it
but never knew
now i stare at my desk
with its errant technologies
chrome and buttons and wires
and on the computer screen
it reads “high definition photos”
and what can be seen
is a lighthouse
broken boards
chipped paint
i can feel the grains of sand
sifting through my fingers
and i think how funny it is
how we immerse ourselves in futuristic ways
of getting back to the precise moment
of nothing remotely close to design
or intervention
the purest moment
like when i suddenly realize
how truly sad and naked and crumbling i am
without you today
