Mend me

Trying to apply these empty Remedies
To cure the pain that I can’t flea
And the horrors that won’t let me be
Spent a lifetime wondering where my lover is
In hindsight could I have been more oblivious
But yet what I would do for another kiss
Losing you wasn’t in the plan…

Walking on the beach on those sunny days
Making fun of you doing your funny face
Those memories are now the only thing we share
Words were said and our demons shown
Automatically triggering a nightmare
Did you really think we could do this on our own?

My what a wonderful day to embrace my pain,
To call out all my evils by name,
and put it all to shame
My what a wonderful day to embrace my pain,
To call out all my evils by name,
and put it all to shame.

We came to sudden stop and still suffering for the whiplash
When I saw you there the pain hit fast
And you talk about it as if it’s one in the same
Nothing leaves you satisfied
Just to let you know I know you lied
And that’s not the reason I came

My what a wonderful day to embrace my pain,
To call out all my evils by name,
and put it all to shame…
I’m holding on with my life
As the light fades into the night
How can I give up without a fight?
But I wonder, I wonder…

Honestly I couldn’t go back to heart filled with pride
Not after our worlds collide
Motivated by what don’t have
And I know I can’t go back
And I know there’s so much we lack
I’m just trying to not fall between the gaps…

My what a wonderful day to embrace my pain,
To call out all my evils by name,
and put it all to shame…
I’m holding on with my life
As the light fades into the night
How can I give up without a fight?
But I wonder, I wonder…

I don’t why the offer tempts me
When I know the promise is empty
If you love me then why do you bend me
The least you can do is mend me… Mend me
I don’t why the offer tempts me
When I know the promise is empty
If you love me then why do you bend me
The least you can do is mend me… Mend me
