Sleeping in salt

I'd watch the street glow
But then you'd know
You'd let me try
Before you'd pry
My hand free
Dangling above dreams

Somehow its always this way
The sea of the salt
The talon of prey
Should've stayed in the tree
Its a better suited hallow for me
Than the queue of you
And I sway and sleep in salt

Shelter of bones and crawling
Crawling, crawling insects infecting
These roads, as far as I go
Kneeled in roots to show
A revolution I slept in
Slept in salt in dreams to win
And followed you trail of bones

Blood of water, slither of the withered
Resembling a fish in the desert
Of a child I thought of quivered
I remember you from back then
I remember the fun times when
All the lights hated my eyes
And when salt of blood cries
To remorseless sand, desert days
To a honest hand, better days
I remember when I'd sleep dreamless in salt.
