On The Edge { Chapter 5}

Two weeks later, Eric became busy as he threw himself in his work.
But, was still having some writers block. He sat there in front of his laptop as he was smoking his cigar becoming more frustrated, he blew a puff of smoke in the air then puts the cigar between his lips as he was typing then he heard the door bell ring as he got up and opened the door to see Kells in front of him wearing a white long sleeve crop top and high waisted ripped blue jeans with black vans as her hair was straight. She smiled at him as she said " is it ok if I come in?..."
Eric looked at her feeling awkward because he hadn't talked to her since their
'Kissing lesson' two weeks ago, he hesitated at first but then said " yeah come in...".
Kells smiled as she plopped down on the couch laying on her back with her arms behind her head as Eric closed the door and stood in front of her looking at her as she smiled and laughed as she said " what?" Eric then said " why are you here?"
Kells smiled as she arched her back to stretch then said " well Bessie has some people over who want to adopt one of the kids and Im supposed to pretend I'm not there and so I got bored so I came here" Eric nods then says " oh I see..."
He sits down next to Kells as he went back to typing as he put his cigar in between his lips puffing some smoke as Kells was staring at him Eric noticed as he said " is something wrong?" Kells smiled and said " I never knew you smoked..." Eric shrugged and said " eh, well I do it to think so it helps me kind of..." Kells smiled as she raised her eye brow and said " oh really?" Eric smiles and said " yeah" as Kells takes the cigar from Eric and puts it in her mouth as she blows a puff of smoke in Eric's face then Eric snatches the cigar from Kells as he said " you shouldn't smoke..." Kells rolled her eyes as she said " you're no fun..." she laid back down on the couch as Eric laughed as he continued typing then suddenly Kells got on her hands and knees as she kissed Eric's shoulder and layed her chin on it as Eric couldn't help, but be distracted by her. He wanted to tell Kells he didn't mean anything when he was teaching her how to kiss. He closed his lap top as he turned to Kells as he said " Kells, remember what we did two weeks ago?..." Kells smiled as she nodded and bit her bottom lip and said " yeah, how could I forget?...why? You want to kiss again?!?" she said getting excited as she puckered her lips till Eric stopped her and said " No, listen Kells I did that to just be nice to teach you so some other lucky man can kiss you...." Kells looked puzzled as she said " so what's wrong with me? You're not interested in me or something?" Eric sighed and said " no, it's not that I'm not its just well since all I was doing was showing you how to kiss then all it was a lesson nothing else more so don't think I was trying to lead you on or anything Kells...." Kells looked at him confused as she said " so you felt nothing at all when kissing me?" Eric, was silent because he wasn't too sure how to answer that question. Sure the kiss was nice, but did he feel something for her?. Then he quickly said " nope, nothing!" Kells nodded and said " oh...I see..." There was an awkward silence between them till Kells broke the silence as she said " well can I turn on the tv then?" Eric smiled and said " sure" as he opened his laptop back up as Kells was watching tv. Eric, puts his cigar out in the glass ash tray next to him.
Kells laid there on the couch with one arm behind her head and another on top of her stomach. As Eric was finished typing he closed his laptop and looked at Kells as he said " you hungry?..." Kells nodded as she said " yeah" then Eric " well I'm thinking about ordering pizza, is that ok?" Kells nodded as said " sure..." Eric nodded as he called the pizza place as he got up and walked around the house as he said on the phone " yes, I would like one large cheese pizza with cheese in the crust, a lieder of Coke and bread sticks and mild hot wings...." then after the order was done Eric smiled and said " ok, thank you bye...." then hangs up the phone as he leaves it on the table as he said to Kells " I'm gonna use the bathroom real quick..." Kells nods as she watches him leave then as soon as he was out of plain sight Kells looks at his cell phone as she made sure he was out of the room and grabbed his cell phone as she looked through it.
She saw a lot of texts between him and his manager about business then she looked through his pictures as she saw self pictures of him and his family as she smiled at them and said softly to herself " how cute..." then suddenly a text pops up on his phone as Kells read it, it said:
" Hey cutie, I hope you remember me from the club well call me! ;) "
Kells rolled her eyes as she said under her breath " bitch..." then deletes the text.
Then she heard the toilet flush as she quickly puts Eric's phone back on the table as she sat there trying to look nonchalant.
Eric, comes down the stairs as he smiles at Kells and says " ok so the pizza guy will be here in couple of minutes so in meantime you want to watch tv?" Kells smiles back and says " sure " as they sat next to each other watching tv when suddenly the heard a knock at the door Eric gets up and grabs his wallet as he walks over to the front door and opens it to see the pizza guy as Eric brought the pizza inside as Kells helped bring in the bread sticks and soda then Eric paid for it as the pizza man left then they sat down together on the couch as they both got a piece of pizza and a glass of soda as they were watching tv and eating then Eric turns Kells as he says " hey Kells?" Kells smiles and says " yes Eric?" Eric then says " what are you because you and Bessie don't look like you're really related..."
Kells took a bite of her pizza as she said " I'm Mexican, Italian, and Native American...and besides Bessie is my step aunt so technically Im not even related to her..." Eric then said " oh...well how is she your step aunt then?" Kells then said "she was my mother's step sister, Bessie's father married my mother's mother" Eric then asked " so what happened to your mother's father?" Kells then said " he was screwing a woman fifteen years younger than him and got her pregnant and it took my grandmother two years to figure out he was cheating on her then after she finnally found out they got divorced and met Bessie's father who already had three kids of his own from a previous marriage then they got married..." Eric then said " damn...that's crazy..." Kells then said " so what about your parents?..."
Eric smiled as he ate his pizza and said " well they've been together for twenty two years and are currently still living in the Bronx so I guess they're doing fine..."
Kells then said under her breath " and alive..."
Eric then said " what?..." Kells then said " oh nothing..." then sipped her soda quietly as Eric then said " well Kells I know you still miss your parents a lot, I mean I don't know what it's like to lose your parents at a young age--"
Then Kells cuts him off as she said " I was fourteen, I wasnt that young..." with some edge to her voice then Eric said " yeah well still if you need someone to talk to I'm here" Kells smiled as she put her hand on his which was laying on the couch as she said " thanks" softly as she close to his face, so close he could feel her breath on his lips. This instantly made Eric uncomfortable so he quickly said " um...um...I-I think you should go....B-Bessie probably wondering where you are"
Kells then said " oh ok" she finished her soda as she got up and walked out as Eric laid down on the couch with his arm covering his eyes as he tried to get Kells out of his head.
