Copenhagen
Wandering tourist trade
Mostly male, opaque shades
A few good sports exhausted by routine
Husbands and/or wives taking a break
Frat boys drunk and disorderly
Executives willing to pay top dollar
Lawyers looking amused, litigation forgotten
A few virgins here for their very first time
They've all heard the stories
Seen some snapshots of this wide open town
This Mecca of safe and merciful satisfaction
Its humane way with "sin"
Now they're actually here
All wandering and window shopping
And actually finding on full display
A woman, or man, for every taste
A wide range of ages and colors
Some in elaborate lingerie
Snakes, lashes and garters
Fifty shades of red and black
Some in costume
The traditional French Maid
One a cowboy with a pout
Still others barely in jeans
And feigned indifference
Some faces painted brightly
Others subtle with a semblance of class
Some quite beautiful, surprisingly demure
But all available at a certain price
A perfectly reasonable negotiation
Purchasing the hottest ticket to ride
And maybe a few snapshots and selfies
From these short days on a long leash
And permission granted on vacation
Fantasies brought home with a business card
This one bearing a lipstick kiss and signed
"Ask for Coco."

I've never left the country either Taryn. "Copenhagen" is base on a description from a libertine friend. But I have been to Reno. That's where I met Coco. Thank you baby. I love you too!

The quality control's a little stricter in Copenhagen I'm told. It would be number one on my itinerary. Thanks Devlin!

Sounds like my kind of place. At least for a day...but never longer than a week.

Last time anyone asked for "Coco" they ended on Mulholland Drive. Sounds like a sexy Rodeo Drive, from what you describe. But I thought Copenhagen was the mecca for physics?

Maybe I should open a travel agency! "This town could be the eighth wonder of the world..."

That's beautiful, not commentary, not criticism, just a glimpse, a postcard. Out loud it feels like a Paul Simon song. It could be the ad copy.

Thanks Loki. Paul Simon is an amazing lyricist, one of the best! "Hello darkness my old friend."

I'm really delighted you enjoyed this. I've never actually been to Copenhagen, and based this on reports from friends. Denmark sounds like an amazingly progressive and humane country. I wish the U.S. was more open minded!
