HEY LOVE
Hey love, I’ve always wanted to know more about you
Some say you are sweet while others hold a contrary view
Some say you are wicked but I’m refusing to believe it’s true
Are you truly the most beautiful thing men are dying to find?
No man can escape your spell when you possess body & mind
Some say you are priceless and your worth, money can’t buy
Still some folks believe you don’t truly exist; I wanna know why
Some say you’re blind none has seen the true colour of your eyes
Some say you more like a fairytale told by those who believe in lies
You mean different things to different people as many would claim
You intoxicate men and women you make them act strange & insane
You stir jealousy in the hearts of some instead of joy you cause pain
Some say you betrayed them even when they were always faithful
Promising you would never leave them but you were not truthful
It’s a thin line between love and hate” and you can be vengeful
Still It amazes me how you also show compassion and forgiveness
Your willingness to make selfless sacrifices is an act of greatness
Men sometimes misconstrue your kindness for weakness
But you are strong and accommodating, you don’t discriminate
Deceitful men mask your face; in your name evil they perpetuate
You are persevering and undying even in the face of threats
If all men truly have you in their hearts there will be peace on earth
You give meaning to life & some believe you're immortal conquering death
You inspire men who sing songs about you & poets who write about your legend
Even atheists believe in you" they feel you in their hearts, only fools pretend
Some profess you are a god that cannot be seen but lives you beautifully touch
Your absence indeed can make life miserable and the pain could be much
When you reject someone who adores you with all they have it could be worse
But the truth is you will always be appreciated more as a blessing than curse"
Now I've realized you are the reason why God keeps us alive despite our flaws
I've read the Ten Commandments but you remain the greatest of all laws
Love your neighbour, as you love thyself" so the Holy Book says
No matter what happens I will never despise you" for the rest of my days.
