Emotion and Tribute

I don't sleep well anymore
It started around this time last year
Right around the time my Mother was declining
Monthly trips to Florida
Watching her in her 9th life spiral down

I accept her death as the natural process of life
She got 90 years out of her parade
Many of those years with pretty good health
A blessing unto itself
Though she was a worrier, that lays claim to your happiness

I miss her
I miss the vestiges of her elder glue
Keeping us in line
Despite her years she was still calling the shots
We as people need discipline, her excellent craft

I became Push2Start to come here
To this very place of emotion
Far from my stony exterior and other misbehavior
Death leaves you with a hangover
Living the process, waiting for the fog to clear
