Self-made
I barter self-sanctuary
bit by bit,
effuse self-hugs by precedent.
Remind myself, I cannot stop
or I will be to blame for loss.
Sharp-eye the trap
I've squatted on,
test the latch, forgiving none.
I settle in,
(lids squeezed tight)
awaiting jaws of metal bite.
Silence meets me..
Where'd it go?
(the pain that tends to come on slow)
Creeping to tall-
I peek around,
and SNAP!
(me, and the kiss of ground)
bit by bit,
effuse self-hugs by precedent.
Remind myself, I cannot stop
or I will be to blame for loss.
Sharp-eye the trap

test the latch, forgiving none.
I settle in,
(lids squeezed tight)
awaiting jaws of metal bite.
Silence meets me..
Where'd it go?
