Empty eyes
I saw his darkness, I saw that smile
I knew his sanity, could only last awhile.
A crumbling memory of a powerless boy.
Surrounded by nothing but silent, heartless toys
"They aren't enough!" he cried. Pointing at their empty eyes.
This creature of darkness, the one I was supposed to despise.
He wanted a friend.
My arms wrapped his waist, my smile brightened.
How would this story end?
