stitching it all up
put myself way too high
tended to fall down
created a cage
for the dreams of you
my muse of pain
the stage of change
creativity thrown this way
stripped and locked away
held it all inside
ready to burst again
calm outside
yelling inside
no one could tell
what I was going through
but couldn't miss one step
or you would see
everything inside
screams, pain anger
all of it thrown
for the world to see
too uptight to let it
truly go away
but you slowly start
to see how it harms
not just those you love
but manifest itself
into a black rose
blood dripping down
so I slowly tore at it
pushed it all outside
carefully unwrapped
what was lurking inside
showed the true me
and sure some laughed
some made fun
of who I really was
but those that truly cared
stayed by my side
didn't really care
for the words of others
as time passed by
it all just turned to talk
I don't portray
who I used to be
I don't hide behind
my insecurities
as those who try
to make fun of you
tended to fall down
created a cage
for the dreams of you
my muse of pain
the stage of change
creativity thrown this way
stripped and locked away
held it all inside
ready to burst again
calm outside
yelling inside
no one could tell
