Image for the poem The Eternal Dance.

The Eternal Dance.

Tangents fly from the fancy dress
As the two headless figures dance
Juxtaposing one another's existence

One tall, black suit, no arms, no heart
Leading one step, following the next
Shadowing, preceding and contradicting himself

The other, smaller, white dress, exposed legs and hands
Following every step in his complex dance
Not questioning, not fearing, but certainly not winning

He, is losing control, his steps become unsteady
Almost fallen, stood up.
It's headless form swings around it's counterpart.

She, misses the slip and continues to follow.
The mist around him hid it.
But she often trips herself and so sees it the norm.

These two headless figures lock in dance.
Hiding their faults, follow the others lead
Stuck in timeless eternity
