It's dark now and will be dark again
but light shines on the in-between
and every now and then
it gets easy with some vaseline

try not to be conditioned
adjust your eyes to something new
if you don't feel broken by it
a wound will only strengthen you

Everything is terrible
if that's how you choose to see it
evidence abound to support
your hypothesis, so really

you're entirely correct in saying
everything is shitty
and I'm correct when I say you're wrong
that's simply relativity

change comes from within your pockets
so you can buy another drink
and lubricate yourself again
try your hardest not to think

because we forget the good stuff
we forget it all so easily
why do we reserve our memories
for our few instances of tragedy
