Awaiting the sunrise

on the rooftop towards the east
a mattress and cigarettes
filled with the goodness
of Maryjane

waiting for the sunrise
speaking of the future
whispering hopes and desires
with Maryjane's help

we saw visions of greatness
helping the unfortunate
loving and giving alms
making the world a better place

Maryjane in her smoky splendour
soothed our heart lend calmness
and peace in our soul we loved
her fusing through our bodies

we loved with gentle ardour
giving and taking off each other
amalgamated in body and spirit
fused together by Maryjane

we saw the sunrise that dawn
with sparkles of colours
spiraled on each pointed ray
showing us the Glory

Flash flash flash
the years went by
Maryjane a distant dream
just a name on the wall

decades
I can't remember his name
but I remember Maryjane.
