Like Today...

On a day...like today

all I wanna do is...

Grab a pint of Jack
and my smokes, sit back

roll one and toke
Reflect on my thoughts
and try to calm my soul down

Days like today...
I do what I can
not to...be so down

Days... like today
I try and I try
to distance myself
from my eyes...
So I don't cry

I don't like tears
cause they burn my face
when they fall...

I turn the pain into anger
till I don't feel pain at all

Days like today...
I'd rather be wrapped up in myself
keeping all this hopeless I feel
On my Hopeless Shelf

Not that I have no hope
I'm just a lil weary and frayed
Life's Winds are scorching me...
man...
I'm just looking for some shade

On days... Like Today
I don't mind sitting in the dark
That way nobody else can see
the life force pouring outa my heart

I'm just feeling like I'm feeling
Not looking for any sympathy
On Days Like Today...
I'm just tryin to deal with the inner me

I'm sick of lookin into mirrors
expectin what I see to change

Until these doldrums  leave me...
what I see will remain the same

and... I'm ok with that

Too tired to keep contemplating
Or worry about what others have to say

All I can do is be still

As I toke...take a sip and smoke
