Time Creeps Slowly In The Moment
This heart is a cold and hollow world endlessly circling the Sun
Deep canyons where blood red rivers once flowed, my name was Mars
Looking back on the years I can hardly remember my life
So quickly the road fades away with fractured memories
That dragged behind me in boots of led treading through clay mud
While the crumbs I dropped along the trail followed me to obscurity
Walking in circles in a slow motion illusion of flying above
I fell back to Earth from the delusion my dreams were achievable
The slide show slipped beyond my grasp on reality as I crashed
Burning in an inferno of empty day dreams deferred
While standing in their shadow, flames enlightened the path
That seemed so clear my fingers reached out to feel the warm mist
That was nothing but fog I could not see into or cut through
Forever was a step followed by eternity blocking the way
Now time has left me behind, living alone and dying in Hell
