Welfare and absence
There is help for those who are economically down and out
What about those of us who have nothing
or no one to care about the absence
of love or self?
I relate more to the stark faces
of the homeless then I do the fucking Kardashians
but this is where society places its worth
I'm here in social science
like a lab rat thrown into
captivity from the Gods
that are suppose to love us
Take me to the dirt
set my flesh on fire
rather then roll me
in the pesticide filled green grass
Hope has faded into the black eyes
and fear of those I've loved
it's a shame because I once was
so damn beautiful
But then he spit me out
I was nothing but phlegm
The problem is
we try to find ourselves in someone
My advice is, look in the mirror
pinch your skin
feel the pain
drown in your eyes
and never ever let yourself
go
What about those of us who have nothing
or no one to care about the absence
of love or self?
