Evil coils toward it's crafty temptation
where forbode fruit so sweetly beckons;
slight of hand plays sinister illusion
securing Lucifer's ominous expectations
Knowledge bestowed by provocation
burdens the soul with conditions;
calamity promised in whispered caution
farseeing power begets venomous poisons

"Farseeing power begets venomous poisons." Your poem proceeds at a sinister pace, or slither. Worldly wisdom or practical power bears a price for the soul. Very well written, Deborah! If read aloud it might sound like a chant.
