Adversity without Regret

Despite the adversity!
I do not regret any of the events’ asperity!
For if my soul stay’s strong and my heart keeps beating
I will accomplish my goal though time is fleeting

The pain of the past’s contortions
Continues to rip apart my heart’s remaining portions
But even as the darkness swirls around me
Within it there is a light I can see
Fighting with tooth and nail
Despite the fact my human body is frail
I call upon my remaining reserve of will
To keep my body from becoming cold and still

Despite the adversity!

And my body is beaten and bleeding
I refuse to fall down
I will not give up and drown
Reaching out to the helping hand that has come into my sight

I grab hold and it pulls me out of the pit of despair
