Even as tears run down your face
and they know something's wrong
they worry about you everyday
Fake a smile,
pretend everything is okay

Even when you can't take it anymore
and you're on the blade of the knife
hanging precariously on the edge
fake a smile,

Even as you fantasize your demise
thinking all the different ways to die
everyone able to see the path you're on
fake a smile,
pretend everything is okay.

Even when you want to let your guard down,
show everyone how much pain you're in
let them see the true panic inside

Even though you've given up
stopped lying to yourself
wanting to let them in

Even when you follow through on your plan
and the pills put you to sleep
and sheer panic slips through
