To The One Who Should Matter
To The One Who Should Matter,
I know how you feel, I still feel that way. There's no easy fix, or even one I know of, although I still hope. There aren't words to make it better - magic doesn't exist in the world we live in.
We've both forgotten what it's like to want to exist, to continue living. I've never been convinced that we ever knew what that feels like. It's been so long that we've lived this way; I can't remember ever not. I still hope it gets better. Even when you stopped caring, I still hoped. Even when I stop caring, that hope still burns - it hurts.

Nonexistent
Let's pretend I don't exist
Makes it easier to me
It's not like I'm ever really here
At least, that's how it seems
I've called, I've begged, I've screamed for help
Stuck in this horrible dream
No one seems to have even heard
I think they all went running
Alone, alone
I don't want to be
Existing, but just barely
I can't do this on my own
Everybody has left me
I can't bring myself to care
I barely have energy to breathe
But none of this I should ever share
I just don't want this to be my ending
Heart is breaking, lungs...
Makes it easier to me
It's not like I'm ever really here
At least, that's how it seems

Sleep
Maybe if I sleep enough
I'll eventually not wake up
Who really wants to live my day?
There's nothing that's enough
I can't live with this silence
I can't stand the noise
Spending my days staring at the ceiling
Screaming lyrics, every verse
Maybe if I scream enough
I can lose all those words
Scream away ghosts of every other
And, just maybe, I'm sure
If I can manage to sleep long enough
I'll eventually not wake up.

Social Worker To Save
I've finally figured out why I want to be a social worker more than anything, why I specifically want to work with child protective services.
I want to be a social worker to save a little 7 year old from waking up before everyone else, grabbing a knife, and thinks about suicide and if their little body has the strength to shove that sharp metal into their body, just so they can die. So, I can save a child from wanting to die before they have a chance to live.
I want to be a social worker because I want to save a little 8 year old from thinking everyone hates them, and...

Enough
The incoming rejection
Something I always see coming
It's something I don't want
Will I ever be enough?
I wasn't meant to become this
I wasn't meant to heal
But so many people with so many problems
Only I seem like enough
circle after circle
Cornered in the same old wall
I just want to break free
None of this is good enough
Facing shadows, facing pasts

Those screams echoed the ones in my head
She just had more courage than I ever did
While she immediately fought, I wished for Death
If I had done the same, could it have turned out different?
Circles, running in the same old thoughts
Still haven't found the answers I have sought
Too many what if's, not enough change
I think of 8 years ago
Some things are the same
I just want to take it back, redo everything

Walking through my memory
Watching my own pain
If I could have it any other way
I would already have it changed
I was asked to speak to the 16 year old me
But I don't think she understands
How much I have changed
To not be able to help who I was then
Her and I are not alike

Manic Ramblings
A phone call would be all it would take, and yet I know I can't do that. My mental state can't take anymore of the same games. I can't take anymore of the blame. I had a part, I take responsibility for what I've done, but I can't take the whole burden. I did what I had to, I shouldn't feel guilty, but I do. I broke a promise, I walked away, I went back on my word, but I had to escape. Even with the aftermath caused by my actions, I can't take this back, and I really don't want to. Not everything is my fault, although the consensus says otherwise. There are two sides to every story, people...
