Resurrection
The empty armor of a Knight rusts near shackled bones stripped bare
Cast off by a lonely man who lived to love no one
He begged the Lord, promised service for the hand of one so fair
To have and forever hold, to make his empty life undone
A tomb lies silent as pain shakes the walls with echoes
A light cuts through darkness bleeding dust from dried up tears
Streaking the thighs of innocence in endless dirty rows
With memories of monsters that haunt her through the years
Sadness cries out from a grave not dug for one so young
There is forgiveness for the broken soul to rise up from this hole
A prayer refuses to die in silence, refuses to go unsung
A white feather pure as the snow falls to melt upon her soul
Sacrificed to save her life and rise to be reborn
The feather gone, left the angel without the gift of flight
A small gift to give that he would gladly never mourn
As the fallen Knight rose to one knee then asks to share her fight

I really love this, I can relate to this lady so in need of her fairytale Knight. Great work my friend.

Thank you Muse! Fairytales are born in hopeful hearts and mine is overflowing with the feathers of guardian angels... jj

I am numerically superstitious and just after posting this poem, I noticed that I had posted 333 poems, which is not actually true, as several of my posts are not poems, but as good things come in threes and anyone who reads my facebook page is aware, I note triple digits when they come my way, I had to note the moment. I like that this poem is 333... jj

Yes Crim, but not completely selfless, as he knows his loneliness will finally be over. I hope that doesn't make me, er-ah, I mean him, any less her hero... So who is rescuing whom? Thank you! jj

a fairy tale where the moral, for me, is there is no rescue from the pain and darkness of this life
sorry to be so miserable :-)
If it helps I really enjoyed it :-)

Thank you for commenting David. There is a real life scenario within the words disguised as a fairy tale, so you are not supposed to see the hidden world behind the curtain... jj

What if the princess were unveil the curtains and show everything? Would it be worth her time. Do you think she should?

Complete honesty always grows the strongest bonds and both Knights and Angels are afraid of nothing...
