This is Now!
That was then
Now I am free
The one that I was
Is now dead to me
Turned my back on my face
When I became an ugly disgrace
My ghost is now gone without a trace
If you think that you know me
You don't know what you think
For I'm no longer that memory
Since losing my past in a spirited drink
Gone are the smiles
Gone are the lies
Gone are the lovers
Who gazed deep in my eyes
I was never real
An imaginary man
Who forgot how to feel
His heart flushed down the can
No more is the hero
In his comic book life
Who saved the drawn world
From a blank paper knife
Erased from existence
Without the slightest resistance
No longer an artist of pictures in verse
The no-longer poet wrote his life in reverse
Now I am free
The one that I was
Is now dead to me
Turned my back on my face
When I became an ugly disgrace
My ghost is now gone without a trace
If you think that you know me
You don't know what you think
For I'm no longer that memory
Since losing my past in a spirited drink
Gone are the smiles
Gone are the lies
Gone are the lovers
Who gazed deep in my eyes
I was never real
An imaginary man
Who forgot how to feel
His heart flushed down the can
No more is the hero
In his comic book life
Who saved the drawn world
From a blank paper knife
Erased from existence
Without the slightest resistance
No longer an artist of pictures in verse
The no-longer poet wrote his life in reverse
