Stranger Nights

By Enigma Rose (crowfly)
(for The Doors competition)

They shift before her eyes
But can't seem to close the door
She listens to her lover lie
And guarantee her stranger nights

They cry "gone baby gone!"
Those traitors down the drain
There's blood stains spreading on the floor
And sirens sound on stranger nights

Thrill seeking at the pier
Side show at 45
He leads her only half way there
She takes his time on stranger nights

Red lights run in style
The moonlight miles ahead
But there's dead air on the radio
So she checks in on stranger nights.
