Thanks for the read and support on these last writes of mine PoetSpeak.
Had a lot of time to talk with my mom this past week and I'm just trying to lay ink to what she witnessed.

There's a lot of tension in American cities right now miki because of the death of two unarmed Black men at the hands of the police. One in the Midwest the other in NYC. It's all been compounded by the murder of two NYC policemen by a gunman seeking vengeance.
It all underscores the racist undertones this country was founded on ... thrives on.
Thanks for the read.

we have been watching some limited coverage on it and have been concerned for the tension but also feel a bit glad that the issues are being addressed now and citizens standing up to the over zealous police.

I still remember your piece on what you saw this country for on one of your early visits (if my old memory serves me right) ... I knew you'd have an appreciation for the starkness of this ...
Thank you.
Thank you.

Lobo, mo Chara,
Your poetry always leaves your readers with points to ponder....in such unique, and sometimes sharp, (shocking) style...
and this one is NO exception!
But, clearly in a time when our country continues to experience such senseless. outrageous acts of violence, this piece so surely serves as a very necessary reminder that there are still those individuals who seemingly support" man's inhumanity to man"...that encourage behavior that ensures that a very horrible time in our nation's past has never truly ended.....(As you so aptly stated) a time when our nation 'thrived on racial undertones.')

O m'anam mo Chara ... Thank you so much for taking the time to read and comment so eloquently on this scribe.
I wish more people ... No matter the arena or format would simply take the time to dialogue about how to stem these explosions and tragedies that are woven within ...
At least we can talk about them here - and hopefully foster more understanding.
All the best to you as always

So shocking, so sad, hit the nerve here my friend. I feel I need to read more to fully understand although I get the gist of cruelty and injustice.

It's the same cruelty we're all witnessing in Paris - and here in the cities of America.
The just have to remember to stand up to the unjust.
