Poem švii

Every morning I awake
To black cascading dawn
Mourning love never wrought
And yet already gone

Her serpent tongue whispers
Tempting me with her lies
All those dreadful secrets
Beyond thought to surmise

She bids me to come and I follow
Through tunnels of darkness
Her embrace is reassuring
Her betrayal stands in starkness

Decrepit years slowly crawl by
The damage is done it seems
Through staph infected wounds
She proceeds to torcher my dreams

Even though I’m not awake
In vain I struggle to escape
From those wild flaming eyes
And salivating jaws agape

So long ago I lusted her presence
Now I’ve sold my soul that she’d depart
But it was all for not
Now her claws impale my heart

All my echoes of longing
Attract a wolf unto a fawn
Attract the shadow of that girl
Another black cascading dawn
