The Private Dance
Her eyes undressed him subtlety
allowing the sparkles to pledge
promises of pleasure beyond his dreams
she left a kiss on the rim of her glass
as they drank to each other’s wishes
from across the room
The thirst from his throat arise
his mouth going dry
his nape went damp and he coughed
to partake of that one so divine
a conquest beyond dreams
he met her eyes, in a pact
all at once they were together
in soundless agreement they embraced
they discarded their warm sheaths
and in their totality showed their wants
in the touching of their skins
in the caress of their hands
the gazebo bore witness to the tryst
the breathless giving and taking
the two souls rocked into ecstasy
feeding their hunger for that while
trapped in loveless-ness they roared
outside their cage for a while
that one should die the little death
love for a while before coldness set in
to touch beyond the indifference
the aches to be treated by a balm
or poultice even though borrowed
meaningful briefly and fleetingly
the dance floor was full again
she would go home with hers
and he would go home with his
they danced, eyes on each other
lips still burning with remembrance
of a love briefly but intensely shared.

Re: The Private Dance
That love may be fleeting, and may or not be re-experienced, but the one encounter might be preserved as a memory, a "magic moment." A private dance can really be a lot more enduring than the public. I'm a little clumsy myself.

This poem was inspired by a line I read somewhere "getting your loving where you can" I thought it sad and I imagined how it must be. Thanks for reading me Crowfly:) I'm sure you can dance.

Delicately told leaving some imagination to the reader drawing him/her into the story.

Kindness in life and in living perhaps. Blankets to warm the needy...candles lighted for wanderers. And in comments, its excellent always. Kind.

Memories of brief moments like this can linger on till the end of time and this one was beautifully expressed. Well done Grace.

Dustyjjewels:) thank you. Such happening can be one of the sweetest memories as its not tarnished by jealousies or petty obsession.

Amazing poem Grace. Whether from personal experience or pure imagination (or combination of both!?) you have elegantly and beautifully portrayed something connective and very erotic.
Wow.
Wow.

Thanks Franko76:) for reading. Just trying subtle erotica here:). Sometimes my poems are fictionalised experienced...you are right, a combination of both.

I realized you by perusing through
the DUP Comps and decided that reading
anything you've written might have an
indelible, life-long impact on me Idryad:
It was an overwhelming feeling that I was
drawn to, and, now I'm better because of
it.
