Poets are not meant to be emotionless mirrors of the world, that is what we have journalists and newspapers for! Poetry is an art and must therefore express emotion. Anyone can pick up a camera and snap pictures, but it is not art if the viewer feels nothing for the subject. In poetry there is an even greater burden for the poet to express emotion while still allowing the reader to feel their own, so that both the readers and writers feelings can co-exist within the same moment in mind.
