Just Friends

There never was a chance for misguided rhymes
To create an illusion that could fool you forever
Trust becomes a victim of passionate crimes
The cost of embracing a fantasy friendship endeavor

Don’t be sorry I feel I can't be your friend
To value our amity only makes matters worse
Whether I like it or not you will not stop being my friend
Once again rejection cries out the words of my curse

Deception guides Arnold’s quest of unyielding fear
From the first time it is voiced the echo never ends
I'd sooner die of loneliness than ever again hear
Love's purest phrase of pain, "I just want to be friends"
