poverty's plea

Burdened fathers, worried mothers struggling to find their place.Children starving for attention just to know their parents again.
A family tragedy stricken, circumstances beyond their controll, but yet so prevalent.
Tears drip down to the tip of a smile searching for a hint of joy-but none can be found. When poverty and pain are constant  and addiction and death promise, destruction knows no bounds.
So then, where can happiness exist?
Tears are often, smiles seldom, tragedy sudden!
Parengs scarcely parenting, fighting a silent struggle.
School attendence impecable for its a way to eat.
Surviving here means complying there
in order to receive the things a child needs.
Taught from their first sunrise never give place to pride. For some give to live while others accept to stay alive.
Over timeone begins to resent what is now called pitty but was then called kind.
Now ,a tender heart grows weary as tears drop down to the tip of a smile!
