Selkie
She travels on moonlight waves
Adrift from midnight's shore
Mine is the drowning heart she saves
When she whispers through my door
I feel the sea breeze on her breath
The gentle currents of her kiss
Her fingers submerge my fear of death
And teach me to dream of bliss.
Adrift from midnight's shore
Mine is the drowning heart she saves
When she whispers through my door
I feel the sea breeze on her breath
The gentle currents of her kiss
Her fingers submerge my fear of death
And teach me to dream of bliss.

Thank you, Katja. Catching up to a selkie would be tough but rewarding. In Irish folklore, I believe they were seals when in water but turned human upon the shore. Wish I could meet one.

I enjoyed that - like a fresh breeze. More so finding out about the Selkie. interesting. I don't mean to make light of it but I immediately thought of chickens; the silkie (not so pretty) but I adore them nonetheless. Beautifully penned.

Love it! So beautiful. What a wonderfully whimsical description of a woman loving a man, and a man loving her for it. Sigh..........
