Little Glass Doll
You're beautiful,
And small. Strong but fragile,
Like a little glass doll.
You're perfect.
But...
Then someone took you,
And couldn't treat you right.
They left you
to endure harsh weather,
Rain that spoiled your dress,
And ice that chips your face.
They pulled you roughly around
and dragged you down.
They threw and neglect you about.
Using liars love
To shove out your doubt.
You little glass doll,
Battered and chipped,
Finally broke and ripped.
They left you shattered and confused
Probably unaware
That you were ever being used.
However little glass doll,
You're still beautiful and perfect to me.
Every crack,
Every stain,
Every broken seam,
Is there to make my heart pound,
And make my eyes gleam.
Little glass doll,
You're not only something to fix.
Little glass doll,
every time I repair you
I promise to break you again.
Little glass doll,
I will rip your seams gently,
With hugs too tight.
Not by throwing you.
Little glass doll,
I will quietly loosen your hair,
With 100 strokes of a brush.
Not by screaming and pulling you around.
Little glass doll,
I will wash your pains away
And love you every day.
I'll listen to you and fight for you.
I'll do it all,
If you'll only be
My little glass doll.
And small. Strong but fragile,
Like a little glass doll.
You're perfect.
But...
Then someone took you,
And couldn't treat you right.
They left you
to endure harsh weather,
Rain that spoiled your dress,
And ice that chips your face.
