The Night She Ran Away
I remember you,
Oh how could I forget,
It didn't set in till I first saw you running down the street running for you life.
It hurt like a knife to see you in distress,
I must confess that there wasn't much I could do for you.
I feel like less of a person for not helping.
I know that you don't know me,
I know that I don't know you, but I hope that you are alive.
For all I know you could've been someone's wife or some child's mother.
Your lover could've been worried sick about you.
Who are you? and why did this have to happen?.
I wish I could've stopped it.
I know things happen for a reason, but it didn't have to be this way.
You should've seen her running down the block as a car was parked behind her backing up ready to chase her.
It was a good thing she didn't stay,
That was the night she ran away.
