temporary feel good
This is not a day of fate
there is nothing to see here
I don’t know how to make my life better
but I can make myself feel better
temporarily
This new obnoxious shade of lip gloss
won’t kick start the serendipity I crave
this is not a Hollywood movie
no one falls in love with the colour pink
blaring from another’s lips
There was no fight over the last
stick in the store
the only words I spoke
where “how much is this?”
and “thank you”
to the bored looking sales attendant
The day ended where it began
home alone
the only difference being
the hue of my lips
momentarily making me smile
in the monotony of my world
which seems to turn all neon’s
to grey
This is not a day of fate
there is nothing to see here
I don’t know how to make my life better
but I can make myself feel better
temporarily
