Golden Threads
a silver string that spans the sky
a circle of rainbows in wishes made
golden threads woven in hopes
confetti of colours on trodden path
pieces of broken hearts scattered
there where life's journey is made
toll of bells from beyond the fields
ringing an end to a promise made
to lift the ring that encircles
the two before God's witness
broken now beyond repair
by silence and indifference
but a new path promises more
a life to live, pages to write
stories to tell, a life to share
wishing upon the star
I wish I might I wish I may
the owl hoots a sign for sure.
a circle of rainbows in wishes made
golden threads woven in hopes
confetti of colours on trodden path
pieces of broken hearts scattered
there where life's journey is made
toll of bells from beyond the fields
ringing an end to a promise made
to lift the ring that encircles
the two before God's witness
broken now beyond repair
by silence and indifference
but a new path promises more
a life to live, pages to write
stories to tell, a life to share
wishing upon the star
I wish I might I wish I may
the owl hoots a sign for sure.
