Growing Up

The child looks at herself in the mirror
Thinking that she's pretty
Or beautiful
But she believes she's cute

The older child looks at herself in the mirror
Seeing the flaws that have been put into her head
Thinking that she's fat
Or hideous
She believes the lies filling her with self-hate are the truth
