Simple
I always want now
A better home from a block over
Stress beginning to slow down my heart
I'm not even twenty five
Shoes aren't a day old
And I'm already shopping for another
Taking back my current girl
For a brand new one
It's a riddle I can't unravel
Bumped into a poor man
With new sneakers and a little dog
He sat in a cardboard castle
With a happy grin
Suddenly it occurs to me
That we're all bouncing upon this ball
Buying into worthless things
That mean nothing
It's something I can't unsee
I donated those shoes
And told my new girl I'll be back later
Then I headed to Central Park
To observe the day
I crawled up a hill
And enjoyed a cerulean sky
Plus the galaxies and stars above it
Oh, how small we are
It's a simple little thing
A better home from a block over
Stress beginning to slow down my heart
I'm not even twenty five
Shoes aren't a day old
And I'm already shopping for another
Taking back my current girl
For a brand new one
It's a riddle I can't unravel
Bumped into a poor man
With new sneakers and a little dog
He sat in a cardboard castle
With a happy grin
Suddenly it occurs to me
That we're all bouncing upon this ball
Buying into worthless things
That mean nothing
It's something I can't unsee
I donated those shoes
And told my new girl I'll be back later
Then I headed to Central Park
To observe the day
I crawled up a hill
And enjoyed a cerulean sky
Plus the galaxies and stars above it
Oh, how small we are
It's a simple little thing
